Stirling Group Chooses XeBusiness to Support Diversification and Growth

Manchester UK: 28th June 2004

North West based and fast expanding outerwear and lingerie supplier Stirling Group Plc, has placed two strategic IT systems contracts with specialist apparel and textile systems vendor XeBusiness.

Stirling Brands

The flagship XeBusiness product Xe-ERP has been implemented to underpin the management of the Group's consumer led Voodoo Dolls and Headworx brand business acquired last year.

The XeBusiness system will deal with functionality covering CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Agent Management, Procurement/Sourcing and Distribution.

The system is expected to play a significant facilitating role in Stirling's strategy to drive these brands global.

Bentwood

This division is currently the third largest adult clothing supplier to Marks and Spencer and is highly regarded by the retailer as consistently being amongst its top suppliers when measured against key performance indicators covering product quality and service excellence.

The division has been using the XeBusiness distribution and warehouse management system (Xe-WMS) for many years in handling warehousing and distribution operations involving the shipping of 29 million boxed and hanging garments a year.

A contract was awarded to XeBusiness earlier in the year for a major upgrade to the existing system to take it to a modern and future-proof technology platform with enhanced business management functionality.

The new system version is now on-line and operational and will enable Bentwood to continue to make on-going improvements to the already high service levels offered to its major retail partner, Marks and Spencer.

Commenting on the award of these project contracts, Vince Sparks, Group IT Services Manager said;

We have been working with XeBusiness for many years and the service received from them throughout has been outstanding. These new IT projects will play a strategic role in assisting with the execution of Stirling's business development strategy.

David Cullis, Chief Executive of XeBusiness said in response:

Stirling is one of our major accounts and we are delighted to continue our partnership with this forward thinking and innovative apparel Group. The fact that we are both Manchester based companies is an added plus.

About Stirling Group

The Group's core values have focused firmly on innovation, service excellence and enduring business partnerships. More recently, Stirling has taken significant steps to embracing new opportunities in both its manufacturing sectors and also its move towards the consumer.

Voodoo Dolls is an important emerging brand aimed at young women in the surf, snow and skate active lifestyle market. It has a widening fashion appeal with a broader streetwear and clubwear image. Already established in Europe and Australia, the brand has two sister brands v Dolls and i Dolls for younger girls. The clothing range is complimented by a range of fashionable accessories.

Headworx is a men's surf, snow and skate brand in the strongly growing niche 'Boardsport' market. The brand is particularly strong in Europe and Australia. The marketing tagline "Think for Yourself" marks out the type of individual associated with Headworx. To complement its clothing range, a successful accessory range that includes sunglasses, hats, shoes and other items contribute to overall brand awareness.

Bentwood has continued its long standing relationship with Marks and Spencer during a period of considerable change and is currently the third largest adult clothing supplier to the retailer. The Stirling Group possesses the range of services and management skills of a full service provider to Marks and Spencer and the flexibility to provide the service they require, depending on the type of product and the delivery requirements.
